I visited the fun fair at Roundwood Park, twice actually. I have a disability and don’t have very strong legs but I found that I could go on so many rides due to the help from the staff there. I went on quite a few rides and they all went out of their way to help me on and off, even stopping one ride opposite my partner who was waiting for me. I had so much fun thanks to their kindness and eagerness to help.

As discussed, please could you pass on our thanks to Stuart & Joe and their team for their hard work at Rolls Royce last weekend. The organisers have described them as being ‘lovely people, hard working, clean and very polite’ and also commented on how friendly and pleasant they were to be with. A special thanks also for the way that they packed up so quickly at the end of the event. Both the dodgems and star flyer were extremely busy all day and Rolls Royce may well ask to have the dodgems and star flyer back again next year.

Thank you for all your help with arranging the rides for Family Picnic on Saturday. The evening went really well, and the rides seemed to be constantly popular whenever I looked over which was great.
We shall no doubt be in touch again at the beginning of next year to organise the rides for the 2017 events.

Thanks for organising such a great event in support of Kids Co. The team on Sunday were really impressed by the positive vibe on site, and it was great to see so many families enjoying the fun of the fair. Your staff were amazing and didn’t stop all afternoon. In particular Colin Preece (Health & Safety) was extremely pleased with the professionalism shown by everyone during the set up process, which he observed, and I was appreciative of the quick and safe put away, amazing how it all fits on a lorry. The whole thing was enjoyed by everyone on site.
I think some people were a little naughty with taking more than they should have done and going multiple times for food. Had Trevor the operations director not switched the times, I definitely think we would not have consumed as much, although you never know with the numbers. Agree in hindsight and for when we do something again, most probably in the summer time next year, that food tokens will be a requirement. I hope our gluttony didn’t cause too many problems for your event the next day.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the dodgems you laid on for us this weekend. We had a great time and everyone commented on how good the dodgems were and what fun they had.
The team that ran the dodgems, Donald and the 4 guys, did a great job of looking after us and policing the dodgems safely without ever being over-strict. Various people said they did really well, especially as some of the 18 year olds got a bit “careless” as the night went on!
All in all, it was a great event and your dodgems and your people made a great effort towards that, for which many thanks.
Just wanted you know how pleased I was with the dodgems. Beautifully clean set, Charles and his team worked so hard . particularly Kieran worked like a Trojan. Charles was always, always helpful and polite and considerate . They were a delight to work with and I think we threw some curved balls their way in terms of where we had to set up and in the timescales and the venue generally.

Just wanted to say thanks to you and your team who ran the fair for us at Eagle House School yesterday. We’ve had some very positive feedback and the kids had a wonderful time! Some have apparently asked if the dodgems can be permanently located on the field.

The final figures are still being counted but so far we know that the London event have over 19,000 participants and so far Sport Relief has raised a massive £52,070,587 with sponsorship money still being paid in!

A note to thank you so much for supplying the Helter Skelter and Carousel-they both worked brilliantly in the beautiful setting at Henley-and Jimmy was a complete star and a pleasure to have around. We do hope he was alright after the dog jumped at him outside the marquee-we felt so sorry for him right at the beginning of the event. The Helter Skelter looked wonderful when it was lit during the evening.
We raised £ 155,000 which is the most we have ever managed in one event-so very appropriate for our 25th Anniversary Year!

As I sit here in the office my eyes still tired, my feet still aching and my brain slightly fuzzy there is an overwhelming sense of pride that comes over me when people ask how the weekend went. Many, many people have contacted us, bumped into us or passed on their comments and thoughts about the weekend and bar one complaint (about the rubbish, it would not be the same without a complaint about the rubbish) they have all been massively positive.
Thank you for your contributions, hard work and commitment but it simply astounds me every time we deliver events of this scale and quality. When it comes to producing one of the best free weekends in the country, we really show the rest how to do it. The attendance levels this year are estimated at 10,000 for Vibrations, Carnaval del Pueblo Parade 31,000, and Carnaval del Pueblo Festival at 100,000 giving a grand total of 141,000 people enjoying the best of Southwark over 2 days. That’s quite cool isn’t it.

Well, it’s taken a week to think about what to say after such a fabulous event for our blue chip client at Wrotham Park on Saturday 2nd August … and as always, ‘thank you’ seems such a small thing to say after such an enormous amount of hard work, input and effort from the entire team. It really was a truly fantastic day and Victoria and I are utterly thrilled that it went so well. The feedback from both the client and guests alike has been hugely positive, they had an absolutely marvellous time and so far the negative feedback has been pretty minimal! What a relief ….
But we must say that we could not have done it without all of you … We can sit and plan, ponder and navel gaze for months on end, but at the end of the day we hand over the build and running of the day to you guys, there is nothing more we can do and this year you all surpassed yourselves. From the efficient laying of yards of trackway, the delivery of some beautiful tents, the installation of miles of festoon & cable, the endless supplies of yummy crumble in crew catering, the threading of hundreds of leis, the positioning and re-positioning of loos, the endless litter picking of confetti streamers, the constant filling of water tanks to supply kitchens ….. to the hours on end wearing ridiculous costumes trying to keep the guests smiling (Rob & Hannah, you win this hands down!), it really comes across as being a team effort and for that we are forever grateful. Despite a few low moments – need we mention Hurricane ‘Wrotham’ blowing a hooley on Friday! – the event was just brilliant and such fun!!!

So let’s hope we get the chance to do this again next year and hopefully you’ll all be happy to join ‘Team vs creative’ again!

The Irvin family have been involved in the Travelling Fun Fairs for five generations and certainly have an impressive range of activities. They also emphasised the care they take with security to ensure their fair is as safe and trouble free as possible. They are at Roe Green until 17th August and will be in Roundwood Park 22-31 Aug.

I am writing to thank you for your contribution to the Middle Temple 400th Anniversary Ball, It was good of you to supply the Dodgems.
In addition to being a fantastic event the ball raised a total of £35,000 for Centrepoint the national youth homelessness charity. These funds will make a huge difference to the lives of the homeless young people we work with.
Centrepoint works with over 800 homeless young people every night and we aim to help them build sustainable skills that will help turn their lives around and fulfil their potential.

I was in only for a couple of hours yesterday and didn’t get to this. Sorry!
The young lady – forgotten her name – was brilliant. I was manning a Fairtrade choc and banana milkshake stall next to her candyfloss machine. On the other side of me were a couple of tables of “Fairtrade” cakes and biscuits and a table with Fairtrade leaflets for giving away.
She had a steady queue for the whole afternoon and must have been exhausted. As she handed over each candyfloss, she said with a smile “There you are, made with delicious Tate & Lyle Fairtrade sugar.” I don’t think she ever didn’t say that, except perhaps when engaged in some other conversation. In between times, she was calling out that Fairtrade helps people in developing countries and so on. Full marks to her. I reckon the candyfloss cart was the most popular stall throughout and she smiled to the end.
Thanks loads for organising this. We were sharing money floats due to shortages of change so don’t know how much we got from the candyfloss but it must have been substantial.
Many thanks for all your help. The school was most appreciative of our support. Several pupils told me that their families were now regularly buying Fairtrade products.

A huge thanks to everyone for making the Gladstone Park Fun Day such a wonderful day for everyone. I wish I could also thank the sun for coming out in the nick of time, which really was the icing on the cake.
The feedback we got from the public was extremely happy and positive – everyone seemed to be having a really good time. The turnout was much better than I had expected and I think no one was disappointed.
Special thanks to all the staff from Brent Parks services who worked non stop and were so quick so sort out generator issues, and other teething problems. Also thanks to George Irvin Snr & Jnr for bringing a really great fun fair – those water balls were one of the big hits of the day! Thanks also to Mike Evans for sorting out those rickshaws which were a huge draw. They looked great, all festooned with flowers, and were such a fantastic and popular addition to the event. The riders worked really hard and I know they worked for longer than they were supposed to, but seemed to enjoy themselves. The roller skating workshops were fantastic and lots of parents told me what a brilliant organization Rolladome is – they were particularly impressed with the instructors. To Phil and Greg and all the folk at Kilburn Cosmos – thanks for getting it set up in such short time, without any fuss and for getting those kiddies laughing and running around! Thanks to Brent Play for bringing the ever popular bouncy castle which was being well bounced on, and for showing what a great service you provide. To Sally Long for bringing back the wonderful Woofstock dog show in such a short time span and making it look so easy. Also many thanks to Chris Howard for coming up trumps with the PA system which was absolutely invaluable. And not forgetting the Madhatters Theatre Co, who got big crowds with their performances and pulled out the stops for some fantastic outdoor theatre!
What more did the punters need? It was exactly the kind of day that I and Martin had envisaged; something for everyone in our community.
Sorry to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech but you all needed to be thanked, and it just goes to show how important, organizations like the GPCC, DHHT and Brent Arts Council, (with invaluable support from Brent Council) are, in helping to create a fantastic local community.
