Dear Laura and George,

Many thanks for supporting us again at our Fairtrade event in Bolton last Saturday.  Tiffany and Megan were really great at encouraging people - all ages - to try the candy floss.  We estimate over 1000 people came in to the Festival Hall and are very grateful for the donations which were given by those who tasted it and for the fact that our funds have benefited as a result.

In terms of what was provided this year I think it worked well and was enjoyed by our delegates. We’re yet to have a full debrief on the event but I’m sure we’ll consider getting the bumper cars back or perhaps consider a different ride.

Just a short note to say a big thank you for supporting the Vikings 250^th Anniversary of Minden Day.  The rides went down really well.  The kids rides were perfect and the adult rides provided the right level of adrenaline rush and excitement.  I imagine that next years Minden Day organiser will be in touch in due course.

Well it was another cracking year, and the sun gods smiled down at us again, I don't know how we do it, but we pulled it off again and it is all down to you guys.  Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we truly love working on the SP09 project and we get so so excited about it every year.  And that enthusiasm seems to rub off on you guys ... every year we are thrilled and astounded that you keep coming back for more, and you always deliver and perform with a smile on your faces, and we thank you for that.

 

You are a fantastic team, and should be very proud of what you deliver on our behalf. SP09 has become a pretty well known show, and we are continually praised for our staff, their commitment, professionalism, never ending enthusiasm and overall sense of fun.  And that's YOU!!!!

The event went well and the Carousal and Helter Skelter were great. Many people from overseas had never seen a Helter Skelter before and were very impressed.

Thanks for organising such a great event in support of Kids Co.  The team on Sunday were really impressed by the positive vibe on site, and it was great to see so many families enjoying the fun of the fair.  As you promised it was a safe and controlled environment, and as far as I am aware there wasn’t any trouble associated with the event.

 

 It was a real shame that it was raining and overcast on Saturday, which I know will have affected your takings.  Hopefully the sunshine on Sunday made up for this and enabled the event to make some profit.  It would be great to know the kind of donation Kids Company can expect from the event.

 

If you need any feedback from myself or supportive emails to councillors etc, please do let me know.  I’ll send a courtesy email to Andy this afternoon.

I was in only for a couple of hours yesterday and didn't get to this. Sorry!
The young lady  - forgotten her name - was brilliant.  I was manning a Fairtrade choc and banana milkshake stall next to her candyfloss machine.  On the other side of me were a couple of tables of "Fairtrade" cakes and biscuits and a table with Fairtrade leaflets for giving away.

She had a steady queue for the whole afternoon and must have been exhausted.  As she handed over each candyfloss, she said with a smile "There you are, made with delicious Tate & Lyle Fairtrade sugar."  I don't think she ever didn't say that, except perhaps when engaged in some other conversation.  In between times, she was calling out that Fairtrade helps people in developing countries and so on.  Full marks to her. I reckon the candyfloss cart was the most popular stall throughout and she smiled to the end.

Thanks loads for organising this.  We were sharing money floats due to shortages of change so don't know how much we got from the candyfloss but it must have been substantial.

Many thanks for all your help.  The school was most appreciative of our support. Several pupils told me that their families were now regularly buying Fairtrade products.

As ever – please pass my thanks onto the crew from Saturday – they worked extremely hard and were commented on by all at the venue as being the best crew in the history of these events.

It was great working with you again last Monday at The Grove.  You are always so laid back, full of smiles and no matter what I ask, nothing is too much trouble.

It was also good to work with Becky and Danielle again.  They make a wonderful team.

I was so impressed with the manners of the three lads, who I haven’t worked with before.  When I asked them their names and introduced myself, they each said ‘nice to meet you’. 

I had excellent feed back from the client too - so all round a successful event.

 

In this current economic climate, everything we can pull out of the bag to be a cut above the rest is essential - and that’s damned easy with you guys.

I write to you to express, on behalf of all at the Brasenose Ball, our personal thanks for how well the ferris wheel was run on Saturday night.

 

I must personally thank you for your unobtrusiveness on the night, speed at setting up and dismantling the wheel, and general impeccable conduct. It made an immeasurable difference to our ball that the ferris wheel ran so smoothly and looked so great as an addition to the spectacle on the night. I could not offer a more compelling reference to anyone considering using your services in the future, and I will be sure to pass on my recommendations to all Brasenose and university balls that I have contact with in the future.

Firstly I must say how impressed I was with the professional nature of your team while operating the attraction in Holland Park. The rides were very well received by park users, the Borough and The Friends of Holland Park. Even with all the rain Sunday you left the site without a mark – Thank you.

As discussed I would like this to be a regular event and targeting the main school holidays seems ideal – weather permitting!  I also think that providing for the younger children and families suites Holland Park. However I have other parks that we could try a different mix.

As I have mentioned I’m very happy with Irvin Leisure and would like to use you in the long term

I am writing to thank you for your contribution to the Middle Temple 400th Anniversary Ball, It was good of you to supply the Dodgems.

In addition to being a fantastic event the ball raised a total of £35,000 for Centrepoint the national youth homelessness charity. These funds will make a huge difference to the lives of the homeless young people we work with.

Centrepoint works with over 800 homeless young people every night and we aim to help them build sustainable skills that will help turn their lives around and fulfil their potential.

Last Thursday, I was invited by George Irvin to a tour around Irvin Fun Fair at Roe Green Park. The Irvin family have been involved in the Travelling Fun Fairs for five generations and certainly have an impressive range of activities. They also emphasised the care they take with security to ensure their fair is as safe and trouble free as possible. They are at Roe Green until 17th August and will be in Roundwood Park 22-31 Aug.

Well, it's taken a week to think about what to say after such a fabulous event for our blue chip client at Wrotham Park on Saturday 2nd August ... and as always, 'thank you' seems such a small thing to say after such an enormous amount of hard work, input and effort from the entire team.  It really was a truly fantastic day and Victoria and I are utterly thrilled that it went so well.  The feedback from both the client and guests alike has been hugely positive, they had an absolutely marvellous time and so far the negative feedback has been pretty minimal!  What a relief ....
 
But we must say that we could not have done it without all of you ... We can sit and plan, ponder and navel gaze for months on end, but at the end of the day we hand over the build and running of the day to you guys, there is nothing more we can do and this year you all surpassed yourselves.  From the efficient laying of yards of trackway, the delivery of some beautiful tents,  the installation of miles of festoon & cable, the endless supplies of yummy crumble in crew catering, the threading of hundreds of leis, the positioning and re-positioning of loos, the endless litter picking of confetti streamers, the constant filling of water tanks to supply kitchens ..... to the hours on end wearing ridiculous costumes trying to keep the guests smiling (Rob & Hannah, you win this hands down!), it really comes across as being a team effort and for that we are forever grateful.  Despite a few low moments - need we mention Hurricane 'Wrotham' blowing a hooley on Friday! - the event was just brilliant and such fun!!!

So let's hope we get the chance to do this again next year and hopefully you'll all be happy to join 'Team vs creative' again!

First and foremost I would like to extend my personal thanks to your team on site over the weekend. Their professionalism was exemplary and brought added value to the event. A particular nice touch was that when the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flew over the Museum to the accompaniment of the Dam Busters theme by the Carousel. This did raise a spontaneous round of applause from people on the site.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for making the Science Event at Toddington a big success despite the weather. The client was really happy with the whole day so thank you and look forward to working with you again in the future.

I wanted you to know that everyone was delighted with the Dodgems at the recent Ball, so much that they will want them again at least twice next year!

Well, we did it again…..despite gale force winds, torrential rain, furniture caked in mud, tens blowing down, tents not even turning up, woks that did not wok, soil churning pigs, grumpy camels, uninvited dogs, skeletons in the closet and surprise gorilla guests we managed to pull it off. And it was all thanks to you guys. Thank you SO SO much for all your hard work, determination, patience, cooperation, enthusiasm and never ending smiles…you are a fantastic team, the best, and we would not have done this without you. The client is absolutely delighted with the way the day ran, and amazed that we did not lose it. We always try and deliver and in the best humour possible. In the words of our client

“Thank you for a fantastic party, I am so happy the weather held out until the end of the day, and people enjoyed such a fun party.”

Let’s hope we get the chance to do it over again next year, so keep your wellies and ponchos on stand by, you never know.

Everyone was really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. The events were a real success and the weather was on our side for most of the time.

As I sit here in the office my eyes still tired, my feet still aching and my brain slightly fuzzy there is an overwhelming sense of pride that comes over me when people ask how the weekend went. Many, many people have contacted us, bumped into us or passed on their comments and thoughts about the weekend and bar one complaint (about the rubbish, it would not be the same without a complaint about the rubbish) they have all been massively positive.

Thank you for your contributions, hard work and commitment but it simply astounds me every time we deliver events of this scale and quality. When it comes to producing one of the best free weekends in the country, we really show the rest how to do it. The attendance levels this year are estimated at 10,000 for Vibrations, Carnaval del Pueblo Parade 31,000, and Carnaval del Pueblo Festival at 100,000 giving a grand total of 141,000 people enjoying the  best of Southwark over 2 days. That’s quite cool isn’t it.

The ride was fantastic for the kids, they all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Your colleague was good with the young people and managed to avert any upset or arguing. The ride was set up and taken down with minimal fuss and disruption.

It really was a great addition to the event and I’m sure we will be booking it again next year.

A note to thank you so much for supplying the Helter Skelter and Carousel-they both worked brilliantly in the beautiful setting at Henley-and Jimmy was a complete star and a pleasure to have around. We do hope he was alright after the dog jumped at him outside the marquee-we felt so sorry for him right at the beginning of the event. The Helter Skelter looked wonderful when it was lit during the evening.
 
We raised £ 155,000 which is the most we have ever managed in one event-so very appropriate for our 25th Anniversary Year!

Thanks for your email and sorry not to have responded earlier but once we finished clearing the place up I escaped to France and have just returned. The party was a great success and we have had hundreds of letters saying that it was one of the best ever. One can’t do more than that.
